Big Lucy is going to be replacing an old DTI switch with a spare sx2000 that was just taken out of service. BL's question is a per node is needed at a distant locaction, are not the FIM moduals plug and play just install them in the main and the per node and give them a plid each is there any additional software that is needed?
As always thanks in advance
BL

How far away? Depending on the type of FIM modules you use, you can go quite a ways with it.

The PER NODE is assigned in the Cabinet Assignment form. If this is a running PBX and you're adding an additional PER Node to it then be aware that the PBX will reload when you do this. This is one of the very few things that will cause an SX2K to spontaneously reboot.

Aside from that, take a look at the READ ONLY form DIM A F D to be sure you have capacity for the number of additional Multiline and/or single line sets you wish to add.

It is important to know what flavor of 2K you have. Also how many Per Nodes total. If you have a Microlight, you might have a problem. If memory serves you can only place 1 Per node on a Microlight. If not, the total Per Node cabinets is limited to 11 primary.
