Hi all

3300 MXe 11 on Mivb 8.0

We are removing all analogue sets from old per cabs onto new ASU 11 units.

I am looking for the best / easiest way to accomplish this on a live Hotel system.

In order to not de program and re program all sets I thought I may be able to simply export the user and services configuration form and simply change the PLID from the old one to the new ones on the ASU 11 units.

My thoughts are I can do 24 sets at a time by export / import of the user and services configuration form.

Is this wishful thinking?

I am not in a position to try in a lab and if I can use this method it will save a great deal of time such as removing from guest room forms checking out rooms and so on.

Any advice / insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I'm pretty sure the PLID is not editable and the Move command will only work for cards of the same type.

I'm afraid that delete and recreate is your only avenue.

Yes it was a bit of wishful thinking ! and I believe it's also true of the Analogue set assignment form as I thought about manipulation of this via export / import

Thanks KwbMitel

This might work. Export the Analog Set Assignment form, make your PLID changes from the Per PLIDS to the ASU II PLIDs using copy/paste of columns F through M, delete the rows except for the changes and save. Then delete the extensions from the Per PLIDs on the controller and import the changes.

This would not restore any COS, COR, Tel Dir or any other programming associated with these extensions that was deleted when the Per PLIDs were deleted prior to the import, it would just "move" the extension numbers to the ASU II. You could export the Station Attributes form before you make the move, delete all the rows except for the extensions you are moving and then import the form after you move the extensions to restore COS and COR. Same for the Tel Dir if needed. If the site is using Suite Services that's a different story.

Thank you SXWizard

Yes I was hoping this method may work !

I am going to try this later this week and will report back.

No suites involved so if this works it will save a fair amount of time and disruption to customer.

Understand that SXWizard's method is deleting and recreating and will not maintain any data associated with the phone

In fact, you'd be better off using the User and Config form to recreate as that would at least maintain COS, COR, and Tel Dir with one import

If you want to make your life a little easier, take the time to design your import so that the X-Connect Jumpers line up so that you can just swing the Amphenols from the per-cab to the ASU-II

E.g. Using Per Node Bay 2 and ASU-II as bay 3 for this illustration

I did something similar and did the alignment as suggested. I exported station service, call rerouting, users and services etal. I first cleared the names as this made it quicker to delete in analog set. When I did it it was on a live system and I cleared 8 per card, had the new import for analog sets pre made for each connector and did the load. After moving all I did the service assigment and rerouting. Then finished with the names. Mine wasn't a hotel and suite services would also be good to export and I think the location had something in there from before personal ring group, fixed that.

Thank you all for your assistance and to KWB for the PLID mapping this was very useful. It's been a while since I wired an SX 2000 and it took me a while to get my head around the translation " getting old "

I did use the method recommend by KWB using export / import of the user and services form as well as all of the other relevant forms including the guest room form and the suggested PLID mapping therefore a star for KWB.

I don’t know if anyone has come across the issue with the guest rooms being checked in as you are not able to delete an extension when it is checked in.

Guest rooms had to be checked out before deleting and checked in again after recreating the analogue extensions maintaining the guest names and so on.

The per cabs are now history !!

I was aware that the rooms needed to be checked out but like you I likely would not have remembered until I tried.

Mitel has a PMS emulator that can come in quite handy for that.

You can even restore the User's name now that I think of it. The Emulator can be set to run a script. Sorry for not thinking of this sooner. Sometimes my memory is contextual and needs to be triggered.

Anyway...About that Star? (not begging but you did say something about it)

My apologies KWB

I forgot to actually award the star. Done it now

Yes I am aware and do use the PMS emulator but I neglected to add additional sockets in the controller registry form the evening before so could not use it on the day as it requires a reboot to effect the change.

I have never ran a script using the PMS emulator but will have a look at its functionality for future projects.

Thanks again
