Peoplesoft Application Engine

There is a book called "Developing with PeopleSoft's Application Engine 8" by Joseph Weessies also with Steve Bollinger. You can order it from STARR Software Inc... I think the cost is around $40.
Do you have any experience with PeopleSoft's component interfaces. We want to use it to do mass changes on job data such as business unit/department/company mass changes. We need the peoplecode to fire which is why we are thinking component interface is the way to go. Unfortunately, none of us have any experience with it.
