Does anyone have any experience using these utilities? If so, does anyone have a general timeframe for how long it takes to complete a simple workflow? The workflow app will simply email certain persons as an order is processed from entry to shipping. I can go into more details if needed.

Thanks

Hiya,

I don't have experience of workflow in version 8 of PS, but did set a couple up in version 7.53, mainly for purchase orders, to email the cost centre manager that something required authorization.

In terms of time, I assume you mean to set up....each one took us about 3 days to complete, but they were the first that we had done, so perhaps whoever is doing them now has them down better, but I think, safe to say, still quite a while.

plz send me information about the peoplesoft ERP modules that have been used .also if possible give me website from where i could get the information,
thanking you.

Hi Pan252650,
Did you ever get the info on how to create a workflow for the PS8 software? I am looking for a step by step and would like to know what you might have found out. Hope you can help me with this....

Thanks...

Well, basically you have to create activities that represent the specific transactions that you're trying to model. Then you use these activities are grouped together to form business processes. In each activity, you have an event is where you will place your workflow peoplecode to model whatever business role you're using. The events are attached to email routings and\or worklist routings. If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask since I know this is pretty vague but hopefully it will get you started. Unfortunately, I haven't found any information on the web and was left with taking the Business Process Design class offered by peoplesoft in order to learn this stuff.
