This is a restart of the thread that was stricken from the VB.NET forum regarding starting up an MCAD/MCSD study group.

Can't remember all the names of the people who were part of it (s2001 and Craig0201 were two of them I beleive), but lets start the discussion up again.

Hi there I haven't forgotten but got squished in family gubbins last week and been developing furiously plus fighting a rogue server installation and a naughty video card - just for SQL no less. Other than that I am back on track and still looking to do this and look forward to hearing from any one else.

Kewl, welcome back to the thread guys. There was some discussion about who uses what IM software, how to stay in contact, etc. Might as well resume the thread where the other one left off.

Im' also curious what exams people going for their MCAD are looking at: Web apps, windows apps? Elective?

Personally, I'm thinking web apps for myself (mainly because thats what I have experience with), and SQL Server for the elective. What about you guys?

Plan of action for me is:

1) Web Services (leave me time to decide on the rest!)
2) Web or Windows apps (or both!)
3) SQL Server elective

Then the Web or Windows apps i don't do and finish with Requirements Analysis for MCSD

Can I suggest we set up an MSN group or similar. Will get a monster thread otherwise!

Craig

seems like a good idea starting a msn group
I'm in

70-306
70-305
70-310
70-300
70-229 - (that was the one that took days with the server)
training resources for the first 3 are almost in place. Chris the sweety is sorting out a site for us but MSN sounds great.

I expect some will fall by the wayside cos it's a slog
(either that or I'm ageing rapidly)
but here goes - anyone doing the 70-306 please feel free to contact me

regards

jo

K, well to get the ball rolling, you can find me on MSN at
jfrost10@shaw.ca

Not sure who Chris is who's getting the website up and running, but in the meantime we might as well get a collection of contact information
(Like Craig said, this thread could get a bit long)
