pentium 4 and redhat 6.2

I have been tring to install redhat 6.2 on my p4 machine, with no success. I read somewhere on the net that 6.2 will not load on a p4. Is there a work around for this? The software I use has recently been upgraded to run on 7.2, but I don't want to upgrade until all the bugs are worked out. Any suggestions...work-arounds on loading 6.2?
