Pen Tool - line disapears

I am learning to use the pen tool and have come accross something very strange.

Whenever I draw a line or curves, the line(s) disapear when I hit enter.[/highlight]

I've made this work before but cannot figure out what I've done to make the lines vanish.

Please help!

The lines are paths; go to the paths palette to select them.

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.
