Peer to Peer VPN

Situation: Two workgroups each with 4 XPpro Pc's, Draytek Vigor 2800VG routers. They are connected with site to site VPN. The four computers at site A access files on one computer at site B.

Problem: When trying to open a Word or Excel file over the vpn it takes forever. At present, it's quicker to open the remote folder, then copy and paste the file onto my desktop before opening. When I have finished with the file, I have to save it to my desktop before copying and pasting it back across the network.

I would b grateful for any suggestions as to what I could do to speed upopening my files.

The problem is you connection speed between the sites and possibly your VPN encryption. You might want to consider an online site that can host your files or a terminal server.
