I have a user with 95, 98 and xp machines. They are connected with BNC Cable. The (5, 98 pc's share files, printers etc without any problems. As soon as I connect the XP machines the other pcs can no longer be seen on the browser although the two XP machines can see each other. As soon as I take the connector off the back of the xp machines, the network springs back in to life.

Any ideas ??????

Please????

hughessoft,

Just an off-the-cuff guess; it sounds like the XP machine(s) are taking over as the master browser but since the permissions are not set correctly, the 98 machines can't see the net neighborhood. Sounds like you're doing simple peer-to-peer network. You can probably resolve by changing the advanced user rights on the XP machines. Check here
for some good background info that should help you out.
