I have a Peer to Peer network with 3Com Nic Cards and Hub.

The system works quite well it has 4 computers linked together.

I have one computer that has all the databases on it (Call it the MAIN. The other 3 computers (call them WORKSTATIONS) link to the MAIN.

The MAIN has the Power Management setting set to Turn off the Hard drive if it is not used for 30 minutes.

My questions is will the WORKSTATIONS be able to access the MAIN harddrive if the Power Management has turned it off?

Maybe if the nic supports wake on lan, but I'm not sure. If it is supported then there would be a small cable which connects from the card to the motherboard. Personally I've had too many problems with power management funtions so I set everything to " always on "
