I can telnet into my 8600 which has 2 CPU cards. when i issue the peer telnet command it says could not connect to host 127.0.0.6 errno 03c Anyone seen this before?

How do those IP addresses get set anyways? The CPU I am having problems telneting into was running in a spare 8600 that was not connected to the network. I think I took CPU card 5 from the spare switch and inserted it into slot 6 of our production 8600.

Thanks

I think the IP address is related to the slot number, at least I recall some debugging once that involved connecting to R-series controllers on other IP addresses (ie: 127.0.0.3)

Do I read your post correctly that the problem follows one particular CPU module? Is it as simple as having telnet disabled (or not enabled) in that module's boot.cfg file?
