We are having an issue where our MM3.1 is no longer able to see the Peer Directory Server ( make sense as it was taken off line and removed without our knowlegde - a case of the left hand not talking to the right hand so to speak )

Not able to open up vmsc to change Peer Directory - so is there a way to make the change to the regedit ? as I see an entry for Peer Directory with the old Directory name in the regedit ( just looked at the regedit and did not make any changes - but thought this may be a way to solve our trouble )

I imagine this is what caused our MAS to go off line as its reporting at the same time -

cheers : )

I'm assuming this is MM for Exchange. The Peer Directory server should not cause MM to go offline unless it was acting as the authentication server for all of MM's connections to Exchange.

If you're not able to get into the VMSC is that because MM appears to be in offline mode or is it online but giving you an error?

You can modify the registry but I would use that as a last resort. Best to do it through the tools provided. So first we need to get your VMSC functioning again.
