It is not my intention to promote myself in any way with this post, (Tek Tip rule # 1).
I just want to get in touch with what’s happening in the real world.
Where else would one inquire, other than amongst his peers?
So here’s the gist of it;
I introduced my company, who are growing by leaps and bounds, to Crystal Decisions Products, 3 years ago. At that time they had minimal reports being generated by their back end systems. All they really had was a rigid sales system than ran on an antiquated FoxPro system, and, financials that were produced by Frx.
For the last 3 years I’ve struggled with back-end system upgrades, malfunctions, corrupt data, user errors, all in an effort to produce accurate management reports.
Over my 3 years, I’ve created reports using CR that provide management with pertinent information regarding sales, cost, inventory levels, distribution and an array of other ad hoc reports. Having to deal with suspect data has not been an easy task, while trying to implement a new way of reporting.
I painstakingly introduced them to Seagate Info and just recently introduced them to Enterprise. Most users are game, but there are still those that seem to simply resist change.
So, as it stands now, “If it has to do with Crystal, see Mike”.
I don’t mean to make this seem like it’s all about me, but…
I am the Only Report Designer.
I am the Enterprise and Info Administrator.
I dictate what information will be collected in our Data Warehouse.
I have no staff!!!
