Hello, my procedure to archive company data after 24 months has been to copy files into a new directory, renaming it thru PT to identify it as the old data (in this case "hmc 06"). Also, I want the new directory to have the same name, so I can find it easier. After doing this for several companies for several years on several computers, now PT says "Cannot open file 'C:\Peachtree\hmc 06\COMPANY.DAT.'" What's up with that?
By the way, hmc 06 opens fine on my backup computer which is running the exact same Complete Accounting 2005. Also, if I try to work around this by restoring a backup to a new company, the program picks its own name ("hmc," in this case, not "hmc_06") and puts the data in a subdirectory under a subdirectory called "Company." Yet all my other company files are under the main Peachtree directory, not the Company subdirectory. How do I take control of this program? Thanks.
