Peachtree Premium - Sum for Component Items

I am having trouble getting a sum for Component Items. We have various Component Items that are used in multiple Assemblies. I want to show the total qty for each Component that we have Orders for.

Ex: Item "XYZ" is an assembly that is made up of components "ABC", "DEF" & "GHI" (one each per "XYZ" assembly). Item "TUV" is a different assembly that is made up of components "DEF", "GHI" & "JKL" (one each per "TUV" assembly). We have a Sales Order for (5) "XYZ" assemblies and a Sales Order for (2) "TUV" assemblies. I'm trying to show that we have requirements for:
(5) ABC's
(7) DEF's
(7) GHI's
(2) JKL's

Any help would be appricated!

If this is all you want your report to do, then just insert a group on the component item field, and then insert a count on the field at the group level and then suppress the details. If instead you have a report with a layout like:

Sales Order 1
Assembly XYZ
Component Items
DEF
GHI
Assembly TUV
Component Items
ABC
DEF
Sales Order 2 //etc.

---then you could insert running totals at the report level, selecting the component item field, count, evaluate based on a formula, e.g.: {table.component} = "DEF"
Reset never. Repeat for each component item and place the running totals in the report footer.

Another approach (maybe easier, if the second layout applies) would be to use a crosstab in the report header or footer with component items as the column, and sales orders and assemblies as rows, if you want that much detail, and it would give you the totals across all sales orders as well.
