I am running peachtree 07 on 3 workstations (Win XP pro) with the server components on server (Win 2003 SBS). The problem that I am having is that if any of the workstations sits idle for too long and we try to continue working in peachtree it Gives the error

File system error number : 3110 in file t:\peach\ashthepl\chart.DAT

It is not the same .DAT file all the time but happens multiple times a day and we have to log out of peachtree and go back in. Any ideas why we could be loosing connection to the server from the workstations or how to possibly fix this.

thanks

Look at the system log in event viewer, on both the desktops and the server for starters. Any messages about the network adapter link going down, then back up? If not, any other messages that occur around the time you think connectivity might be lost?

I had a site not too long ago, that was losing connectivity to Quickbooks often. Upon inspection of the log, it wasn't the network cards losing connectivity, but rather the server losing power for a second, and going down. The server would start again in a minute, and they didn't notice.

Solution, new UPS for the server.

thx, the only error in the event viewer was error 1030 and it says there is a network connectivity or config problem. Any ideas how to troubleshoot that. The windows troubleshoot didnt help very much.

What is the exact message in the event viewer?

Do you have a UPS on your hubs/switches, and on your server?

The source is: userenv
The eventID is: 1030
The description of the error is:

Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. A message that describes the reason for this was previously logged by the policy engine.

Ive also ran the DCdiag on the server and got the Directory Binding Error 2146892976

Yes UPS on server, switch, but not router.
