Version - PeachTree Complete 2002

I have a user that uses Peachtree. Their hard drive crashed and is unrecoverable. I'm hoping they either backed up the the database to a network drive, or at least copied the DB up to the network. What extensions does peach tree uses for : 1) it's back up files (is ther a default name of the back up ?)? and 2) what is the extension for the Peachtree database ? The user does not remember the name of the peachtree database, so an extension would help

Also, I asked the user for the software that was installed on the old PC, they gave me a box Labled PeachTree Complete Accounting 2002 with a receipt for PeachTree Complete 2002 Upgrade, but inside was a CD for PeachTree Complete Accounting 7.0. Shouldn't there me new CD's ?

Thanks

Peachtree's data files use the extension .dat

Backup files use the default extension .ptb

Peachtree Complete Accounting 2002 would be version 8.0. Sounds like someone stored their 7.0 CD in the wrong box?

this is btrieve so it is file technology rather than a true database. The files names end in .dat
