We recently bought three PE2950s with dual broadcom netxtreme II onboard NICs. These three PE servers and six other no name servers with Intel NICs was on a 3com superstack 10/100 Mbit switch. They worked fine. We then decided to convert our entire network to 1gbit network. We bought 3com baseline 2824 SFP plus 10/100/1000 switches for desktops. A single 3com baseline 2824 was used for all the servers. All three PE2950 refuses to work with the 1gbit switch but the no name servers with the intel NICs works fine. When I say "doesn't work", I mean I can't copy a 300MB file using a windows share between a PE and a windows XP client. The file transfer errors out. I used different 1Gbit models/brands, swapped cables and updated drivers with no success. Does anyone seen this behaviour?

Thanks

Are you sure the speed and duplex settings match between the 2950's and the switch? Maybe someone had forced some settings to get them to work with the old switch.
