Hi,

I'm creating reports with the Report Designer Component 8.0 and I was wondering about something...
I tried to install it on a client machine. Everything works, except when I want to preview a report saying it can't connect to the physical database.
Found some information at the Knowledgebase of Crystal that i have to include the database-specific DLL with my application.
Now, here's the problem...
They all talk about the p2xxx.dll drivers. When I look at the driver of my report it says pdssql.dll but I can't find it anywhere on my system. I do have al the p2xxx.dll files on my PC but al the files in the convert database dialog are pdxxx.dll drivers.

Is this normal? I never installed an earlier version of CR.

Thanks in advance,
Bart

The P2*.dll's are the 32-bit DLL's. The PD*.dlls are the 16-bit dll's from earlier versions of Crystal.

The error messages and dialog boxes inside of Crystal sometimes use the PD*.dll, even though they are not actually using them.

You would think that Crystal would quickly take care of this kind of sloppiness.

this explains it..

Thanks!!
