I'm trying to stop pdf's displaying within IE. I've tried unchecking 'display pdf in browser' within Adobe but it keeps re-checking itself. I am running Windows 2000 with SP4 and have Adobe 7.0 installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader installed?
Try changing the setting in both.

Look for the Adobe Reader browser plugin and trash it.

Using OSX 10.3.8 on a G4

Where would I find the "plugin"? I see there are three "add-ons" Are they the same? Do I delete all three?
