PDF to Word VB 1

Hi
I've been asked by my manager as a one-off if there's a way of running some VB code in MS Word to get data from forms returned to our team as scanned forms - PDF files. We need to get the actual data into word rather than just the image and unfortunately our organisation may well be against sourcing external software (even freeware) to do this; does anyone have some VB to do this ? Many thanks !
