help,
company needs to scan and convert literaly thousands of documents and have them go from pdf to excel. need to know what the best possible route for getting a scanned pdf file, into an excel spread sheet. even just a txt file if that is all i can get, and go from there.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention
of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,
totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

--"WOW-- What a Ride!"

Your question is too generic for a meaningful answer.

An "Excel file" can be quite complex. A "PDF file" can contain text, images, movies, forms, etc.

If you're scanning documents to PDF, the PDF is essentially just a container for a TIFF. If you want to load a TIFF into Excel, you can do that. It's still just a TIFF, though.

If you give more details, so can we, hopefully.

What are these documents? What is the layout? What tools do you have currently, or if none, what is your budget? For example, do you have any OCR software? What programming skills do you have on staff? Why do you want to go to Excel? What features of Excel are required? What do you mean, in other words, by "go from there"?
