Pdf problems in Pagemaker 7.0

I created my graphics in Freehand and placed them in Pagemaker 7.0. They look fine. Then when I export the Pagemaker document to PDF, many of the figures are cutoff in half. Part of the picture is missing. Why and how can I fix it?

Also what graphic program works best with pagemaker for making graphics?

For best results, convert your graphics to a TIF or EPS format. Also, size them to the size that you want them to be for print. Use the File>Place coomand to place graphics, DO NOT copy/paste.
