I have successfully created links in a newsletter done in Pagemaker 7. They work well in my PDF file but after going to a link such as a publisher's site or a personal website, when I go "back" I am returned to page one of my PDF file rather than to the page I was reading and where I found the link. Can anyone help me learn how to get Pagemaker7 to have the link open a separate page so I can return to the page of my PDF document.

Can you edit the link tag so that this section is added after the hyperlink but before the last > of the tag?

target="_blank"

In plain HTML the hyperlink would look like this:
<a href=&quot; target=&quot;blank&quot;>your link text</a>

This causes the link to open in a new browser window with regular websites, I am assuming it will do the same with a hyperlink in a PDF. I have never tried this.. just an educated guess. Let us know how it works. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Thank you very much for trying to help me solve my attempt to have links on my Pagemaker PDF file open a separate window so that I can return to the same page of my PDF file. I tried what you suggested and many variations thereof and can't get anything to work. If you or anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Tek-Tips is a great resource!
