Hi,
Does anyone know how to send a pdf from a folder to a ricoh color copier (MP C4000) with a Fiery E5100 controller? I want to use the VDP and save the PDF as a master, overlaying the prior master. I think I can manage the code for getting the name of the document from a folder with some VB code. The trick is then how to get his docuement sent to the copier Fiery VDP. Once I get that, then I have a report hard wired to the name which I am creating above and merge it with the PDF. Basically I want to send a book cover PDF and then print multiple addresses on that document in 1 pass. I currently have to do 2 passes for this on the old copier which does not have a fiery. 1st I print the addresses and then I print the cover on the same paper with the addresses. THe fiery allows you to merge the data with the saved document in the VDP.
By the way, I could do this process manually. It is a tad cumbersome but I can get it to work. The problem is I have to create this process for a user with the click of a button. There is no way, the user will be able to perform the manual process. I need this automated.
Thanks,
Remember when... everything worked and there was a reason for it?
