When generating a PDF from Pagemaker 7.0, the PDF has misplaced and missing text. The misplaced text usually shows up in the left margin, sometimes overlapping other text.

The misplaced and missing text are equations made from Microsoft Word's math editor that have been placed in the Pagemaker file.

I've tried generating the PDF every which way I can think of: printing to PDF, converting to PDF within Pagemaker, right-clicking the file and converting to PDF, installing another printer driver, printing to Distiller 8.0, and using another computer. Every attempt has the same result.

In another attempt to isolate the problem, I took an equation that always shows up in the margin when I generate a PDF. I made this equation into its own PDF and placed it back into the Pagemaker file. I then regenerated the PDF to find that equation now stays where it should, but another equation took its place in the margin in the exact same spot where the other equation used to.

I have InDesign 4, but don't have the time to waste on converting the files and fixing the layout if I am to make my deadline. It is especially irking when the Pagemaker file seems good to go to press.

I am out of ideas. Please, help me.

The displacement is almost certainly because the format (WMF?) of Equation Editor.

If you can convert the equation to preferably EPS or TIFF, or even JPG, you should be OK.
