PDF fonts in Quark

I’m doing an ad in Vietnamese. I typed the text in Word using symbols to get the correct fonts, but when I tried to put it in Quark, it didn’t recognize the symbols. I changed the Word file into a pdf and cut and pasted the text into Quark as a picture. But no matter how the high a resolution the text is very pixilated when I print.
Any suggestions?
