I would like to produce .pdf file from my VFP8 application. At present I produce screen or printed output via VFP Reporter.

'Ghostscript' has been mentioned as a possible tool. It is mainly a Unix product, and I have not been able to find user's guide.

There was an article in Foxtalk in June 2005. Sadly it included no installation instructions, but the author had found it useful.

If anyone has installed this product under VFP8 I would be grateful for guidance.

Thanks. Andrew Mozley

Thanks, baltman.

I would like to install GhostScript if it can produce .pdf files. Have visited the GhostScript.com site. This offers a GPL version, an AFPL version and an AFPL version of GhostPCL.

If one of these compatible with VFP I will download that. The first file that I could see was ghostscript-8.51.tar.bz2. Have downloaded that.

What do I need to do to install this into VFP. Is there any documentation?

Thanks for your help. Andrew.

Look under "Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP"

The PDF method explained in FAQ184-4349 works fine on machines with GS already installed, but I'm not sure if you could include it with your app. FYI I hear the next version of Office will have native ability to saveas PDFs... perhaps VFP 10 will too.
