I've been trying for several days to export a PM6.5 file into pdf format using Acrobat 4.0 but the output was always a mess where it was no problem before. (150 page document where that page was converted to pdf years ago.)

The single page I encountered the problem with contained MS-WORD imports.

As a last resort I reformatted an XP computer down to Windows-98 and the export to pdf format finally worked!

My tip is that Acrobat 3.0/4.0 are only 99% compatible with an XP system.

Well, yes, and it's not surprising as they pre-date WinXP by many years. You should be using AA6 with WinXP, and AA7 is not far away.

You should also note that Adobe do not support PM6.5 on WinXP either, as it's some 7 years old with a core going back to the 80s.

The way forward is InDesign.
