I have many PM7 files (yellow page ads) saved to PDF; now when combined in a book, fail to convert. I get "cannot send psotscript to distiller" error msg. The placed images (linked are updated, colors all B&W,grayscale or cmyk. Fonts (are good) previously converted w/o problems. Settings are the same (as before). Why would this happen? Thanks

Hi, PF04,

PageMaker files are exported to become PDFs.
They are saved as PageMaker files: e.g. *.PM6, *.P65, *.PMD.

I'm assuming:

a) they're PM7 files, from which you have previously created PDFs - one at a time. You are now concatenating them using PM's Book Utility;

b) you have the latest Postscript driver correctly installed;

c) you're using Distiller 5 and the correct PPD.

Here's the link to the relevant page in Adobe's PM Support Knowledgebase dated 28th May 2004:
Error "Can not send PostScript file to Distiller" occurs when you export or print to PDF (PageMaker 7.x)
