PDF displays blank page in browser

Problem: User clicks on a PDF link in a web page and a blank page is displayed within the browser.

Solution: There are several solutions out there for this problem but, in my case, none of them worked. It finally turned out to be caused by an apostrophe in the PDF file name. Once I removed the apostrophe, the PDF displayed correctly within the browser.
