PDF difficulties. Out of Memory

HI -
Anyone know why my A.I 8.0.1 is doing this when I try to save as PDF;
"Adobe PDF File Format is having difficulties. Out of Memory."
I am trying to save an EPS as a PDF. It usually does it after about 3 successful goes, and then brings up this error warning each time....sometime a reboot will sort it, but now it is doing it after reboot every time...

Any ideas?

Have you tried converting your EPS file to PDF via Distiller, rather than through AI? That is, open the EPS in Distiller then distill to PDF.
