Pdf conversion of text blurry - please help!

PDF for internet - how to correct blurry text?

Hi, I am trying to send off a simple few lines of text over the internet, but when I convert it from word or Corel Draw to either jpg or pdf format, the results are blurry. Why? (I make sure that the dpi is set at 72 for the internet).
