Okay.. here's the scoop.. (Warning, IT Student!!)
System 1 (Sys1) - In Vancouver, running Windows 2K Server and FaxServe
System 2 (Sys2) - In Kelowna, running Windows 2K Prof. and Faxserve Administrator

When the systems are on the same network (On the same hub, with ip's in the same subnet) things work "hunky dory". I am in the test phase where sys1 is only across town, but it is enough to change the IP into a different subnet. I need to beable to "log on" to that system from sys2 and be authenticated in order to use the faxserve administrator properly. As it sits, I have tried to join the domain by modifying my host file to include sys1 as my domain server but to no avail. I am assuming I have to create a VPN but am still too green to understand fully how to accomplish that over the @home network. Can someone point me to a website or give me some ideas on how to get started?

Thanx..

Microsoft has some nice whitepapers on setting up a PPTP based VPN, which will allow you to log on to your server from a remote site (you will be part of the network)
and if you install Terminal Services on your server, you can do full administration of your server... Peter Van Eeckhoutte

Would you happen to have a link handy?
