Currently we have added two new Windows 2003 Servers a PDC & BDC into our environment. We are working with 25 users the OS is mixed with XP & Windows 2000. When we log into the PDC our users desktop changes and the user previous settings change.

My question is, is there a way that users can log into the PDC without having our users' desktop change and settings?

FYI: This how we login ex:
bob@waytogo.com & than password

I am new to the Domain Controller world so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well to start with there are no PDC's or BDC's in a 2003 environment, it uses a multiple master setup where they are all effectivly PDC's.

When you logon to a 2003 domain using a domain account under 2000 or XP you will receive a different desktop as every account on that system inc local accounts will have a different desktop.

If you want uniform shortcuts on the desktop put them in the all users folder.
