When logging onto the network users can see all the computers in the network if they logon through the pdc. On the other hand, if they are authenticated through the bdc they only see the users that logon through the BDC, even though from the bdc you can seed the entire network.

The clients can still ping and get to the all of the users but do not see them in Net Neiborhood. The BDC is our wins server also. Replication is taking place.

Thought it might be a browse issue but not sure. Any ideas would be appreciated.

can they see the shares on all servers ?
If a user, once logged on to the BDC, tries to do a
net view \\YourBDC
net view \\YourPDC
net view \\AnyOtherServer

Does it work ?
If so, then you don't have a problem... you will be able to map any share you want...

Yes, you can get to the resources or the shares by using the UNC. but you can't see the computers in network neighborhood.

Why do you need to be able to see the computers in the network neighborhood ?

What network protocols are you using ? Peter Van Eeckhoutte

TCP/IP. They really don't need to see them except when they want to send something to a shared printer etc... Once in awhile they dcan't see a shared drive on a server.
Really a question of why this happens. I don't see any reason that they can't see them, unless for some reason the logon script is not running properly. But I checked that it is being replicated and is the same as the PDC.

I was having this issue with my PDC. All of a sudden it wasn't allowing me to see the users in the user manager or the server manager and the only systems that I could see were the ones that were logged on to the PDC locally. But I could see everything fine if I logged into the BDC.

What I did was just bounce the server and let it rebuild. That might help!

I found that the scripts weren't replicating properly after making some changes to them. I fixed this and now all is fine.

Tahnks everyone
