Can pc's behind a router see (in the network neighborhood) pc's that are not behind this router? If so, what things would I need to look at to configure this?

I have a Cisco 2600 router with a 4 pc's (Windows 2000)behind it (different ip addresses....using NAT) that we want to have the capability to see the pc's not behind the router (if possible)

Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if confusing!

Michelle

No, this is not possible. Network Neighborhood is built when PCs broadcast their existence on your LAN. A router does NOT forward broadcasts. Therefore, anything on the other side of the router will not be seen in network neighborhood.

That's what I thought....

Thanks for your help!

In the general sense, Shnypr is correct but there are ways this can be made to happen. If you are part of a Virtual Private Network (VPN), the software used allows the broadcast and then you will see external servers. Not knowing what you are attempting to do, this information may have some helpful hints for you.

Just be wary of the security issues.

Hope that helps.
