Hello everybody,

I've noticed a strange problem when using PCPro for the SV8100 and SV9100 systems. It's not saving my connection settings. I've been using it for around the past 10 years without any issues but just this past year or so I cannot make PCPro retain my connection settings. I enter the IP address, username and password etc, I click "Save As", I give the connection a name and click ok, and I can see that new entry in my "Connection Account" drop-down menu without any problems - right up until I close down PCPro and open it again. Then I find it's gone, and the list is totally empty. It's the same for the SV8100 and SV9100 versions of PCPro but it doesn't seem to happen on the SL2100 version I have installed on the same PC. I've updated the software again and again as new versions are released but it hasn't helped. I have the problem on my PC in the office as well as my totally separate PC at home, and my colleague has said to me that he's got the same problem. Anybody else had that problem, or know how to fix it please?

Many thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,
I have had luck by running PcPro as an administrator, that seems to work for me.

Hi Ebeau97,
I think I've tried that already but I'm willing to give it a go again. I think it's something to do with where the program stores the details in the registry. I did an experiment and saved a fake connection with a name like "Fantabulous!" or something like that which shouldn't have existed anywhere else on my PC. Then I searched the registry for that keyword and found the connection details saved there, so it's not like the program isn't saving it, more like it saves it somewhere it can't get back to next time you close it and open it. Bit odd.

Thanks,

Dave
