Hello,

Almost 2 years ago I started thread937-1804361 regarding PCPro losing my saved connection settings. Unfortunately it's still happening now. It happens in the SV8100, SV9100 CP10 and SV9100 CP20 flavours of the software, including the latest versions. I'll save a connection with IP address, username and password etc and I can see it saved there for a while, but then the whole list of saved connections just magically disappears for some reason. Sometimes it takes a few days for it to happen, sometimes they're all gone within a few hours. It's not my PC because it's happened on my current machine, the previous machine which this one replaced, my PC in the office, and it's also happened to a colleague of mine with his own computers. I work for a company who look after NEC's for quite a few customers and it's driving me mad having to go searching for IP addresses and credentials all the time.

One thing I have tried doing with some success is inputting all the connection details into PCPro and saving them one at a time, then going into the registry and taking a backup of the part where the details are saved. Then when they all disappear, all I have to do in theory is go and restore those saved details back into the registry and hey presto, there they are again in PCPro - except sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Any ideas at all please? Has anybody else had this issue? If so, have you been able to fix it somehow?

Thanks!

I have used the "Run as administrator" and it seems to help for whatever reason. I've had settings be deleted right after I have entered them. Set the customer up, exit PcPro, go back in and it's gone. Sooo frustrating.

@conxtel Thanks for replying. Yes same here, very frustrating and a huge waste of time. I have noticed that PCPro saves the connection settings in different areas of the registry depending on whether I'm running it as administrator or not. So I've recently set all my PCPro versions to run as admin, like you mentioned, and the problem seems to have gone away (fingers crossed). There is now of course the "Run this program as administrator?" prompt that appears every time I open PCPro, but at least it seems to have resolved the disappearing connection details problem for now.

Aggravating in the extreme. I don't know what is causing it to be honest but my inclination is windows 10. Windows 7 I NEVER saw this.
