pcmcia source tree install

Trying to load the newest version pcmcia-cs-3.1.33, when i try to make all it gives me an error saying:
Cardbus support requires kernel PCI BIOS support!T fix, re-run 'make config' and disable Cardbus Support.

now i've disabled it in the /usr/src/linuc/.config file.. and I still get the same error..
suggestions?
