In 1999 we've sold a CNET SinglePoint CNFM560 56k V.90 Laptop Modem
to a client. It is said that it supports Pulse and Tone dialing.
But while the client is dialing to an ISP through analog lines (Pulse dial)
the modem still uses tone dialing. It is not up to the drivers.
I tried to connect via HyperTerminal directly to the port and even wrote P in
both profiles. The strange thing is that CountrySettings (ATI5) = 099.
With some new modems there is a way to change that setting by a program
supported by manufactures. The modem is with Rochwell chipset.
The client has a DELL notebook and no problems to work on tone dialing
communication network. But he is travelling a lot and really needs that pulse dialing
to be activated.
