A while ago I bought a Vodafone (UK) 3g data card for use in my old laptop which plugs into the PCMCIA slot.

I have bought a new laptop and when I got it home I found it has no PCMCIA slot (silly me).

However, I like the laptop and was wondering if there is anywhere in the UK where I can get comething that will still allow these two components to work together ?

Any help much appreciated.

What make & model of laptop is that then? I have never seen a laptop without a PCMCIA port. Not sure if you can get a USB to PCMCIA addapter, but that may be an option.

Thanks for your response - its a Phillips X53 - the X51 model had the PCMCIA slot but my latest model doesnt have one -it has usb and a slot like PCMCIA but not as deep ?

There are usb adaptors but they cost £150 and I believe Vodafone arent bringing out usb 3G data card/sticks until november according to a very uninterested vodafone staff member in one of their outlets

Cannot find out too much about this laptop, but it only looks like it has USB connectors. Am I right or wrong? are there any other ports?
If not I think USB to PCMCIA will be your only option.
