I have a dongle which plugs into a pcmcia port on my laptop to give me an otherwise not provided 9 pin port on the laptop.
Could I plug this dongle direct into a pcmcia port on a acs processor and send back ups direct to a PC through the pc's 9 pin I/O port? Providing a back up independent of the internal back up on an ACS7?
Could this also work for retores in the reverse direction?
The reason I ask, is it would eliminate the need for a remote card on an R7, or an external modem to reach an r7 remotely. It would require an ability to send the file to customer and have them copy it to the file on the PC which is connected to the dongle. Then do a restore on the R7 from the PC which is dongled to the acs R7 pcmcia port.
It is a long shot I guess and I do not have the knowledge, does anyone?
Thanks in advance,
Todd
