PCM works for inbound call logging.
PCM works when calling extensions on the system.

When we try to call a phone number (local or LD) we get a message that "the requested tapi function failed (0x80000005)."

Anyone have any experience with this?

Are you dialing the number as you would if dialing from a phone?
Example: intercom 9 1 npa nxx xxxx
area code - exchange - terminal digits

0x80000005 is the TAPI error LINEERR_CALLUNAVAIL.

The description for this is as follows: "All call appearances on the specified address are currently in use."

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks Quirkafleeg. That may help in my troubleshooting.

I have determined it is a PCM problem and not a TAPI problem.

I realized that after a reboot I could make a call with PCM but the second call would not work.

However if I do not start PCM and dial through Outlook it never hangs.

I will post when and if I find the solution. It may become a mute point because we are thinking about upgrading to R6.
