Hi Everyone, I have this file that starts with the following code:

&l7.25C&l7.25C(s13.6H(s13.6H

I think it's PCL, but I'm not sure. I do not know what the arrows are. I'm guessing they are PCL escape sequences, but my printer does not recognize them.

The file was generated from an application on a UNIX platform then FTP'd to me on a Windows platform.

It is not printing the file correctly. It only is printing the first line and some of the second line.

Please help...

Here is a sample of the original file:

Somewhere between the Unix box and the printer on the DOS box the escape chr; i,e,, chr(27) has been transformed into something else. I see it here as a small box. Perhaps your ftp was not set to binary mode for the transfer. Thus the print codes are simply being printed as text rather than being interpreted by the printer.

What kind of print command are you using on the DOS side?

The most important question is what kind of printer are you trying to print on? Does it even support PCL5? Note that PCL6 is a whole 'nuther language.
