I am using HP Web Jet admin to upload a font to a Laserjet 4000. I have assigned the ID number of 90. Does anyone know EXACTLY what PCL codes to use to access fonts that are FLASH resident? When I print the PCL font list, the fonts show up in 2 places: 1. under the PJL resident fonts, which do show with escape sequences that don't work and 2. under FLASH resident fonts (with NO PCL codes at all).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

1.try the escape sequences again, I have the same case on my 4050 and it works

2.use the Alphanumeric ID command:

set font ID:
<ESC>&n12W<ascii 0>MyNewFontID

associate font ID with the file name as it shows under
"FLASH Resident Fonts" under each font:
<ESC>&n17W<ascii 1>FontFileName.fnt

select font:
<ESC>&n12W<ascii 2>MyNewFontID

now you can use the last command each time you want to use the font and you dont need the first tow.

Now I have a question too, can i use Jet Admin on a parllel printer? can I use it to download macros to Flash? is it free?

No, unfortunately you can't use Jet Admin (I'm using the Web version, and it only works over IP.) If you can get a copy of the old HP Jet Admin software, I'd give that a try. I went looking for it awhile ago and found out the hard way that it wasn't available for download anymore. The Admin utility is free from HP (30MB). It installs as a service on your PC, which I found out is quite the RAM hog, so I only run it when necessary. The latest version is 7.5.
