Does anyone know if there is a non-SGI copper gigE that will work in an SGI machine? I was thinking I could get one from 3com and save some $$$. Thanks.

I think Phobos makes one.

Be careful though..............

If you are running AppleTalk on the SGI machine, the Phobos card doesn't (or didn't use to) support multi-casting.

Further the SGI copper card didn't support AppleTalk between 6.5.20 and 6.5.22

My advice would be to get an SGI copper card and use IRIX 6.5.16 or 6.5.24

Best regards
