Any suggestions for a PCI (not PCIe) card that supports DirectX 9.ob or better T&L compatable (to play Pirates!, these are the specs from Atari)
$ will be a consideration.

Dell 2350
P4 1.8
256 mb
Sony 200es
200watt power supply
Present video: Integrated Intel 82845G 64 mb

Thanks in advance

Tom

The Radeon 9200 in its PCI version is probably the fastest PCI one, and rather cheap too. But it is not hardware DirectX 9.0b. Check with your local store if Pirates really needs a hardware-compatible DirectX9.0b board. This would mean a Radeon9600 and up. Atari also says that DirectX 9.0b is supplied on the CD so it may only mean that they need the right DirectX driver but not the full hardware to work. They would be stupid to cut themselves out of the lower-end market.

I'm sure the specs you were referring to were "recommended" and not "required". You should be fine only with slightly less detail using DirectX 8.

I don't know of any DirectX 9 compatible PCI cards.
