Hello

A freind judt gave me 2 ultra 3 scsi 20g HDD. I would like to set them up as internal either primary or slave to my ide hdd. I dont know anything about scsi. What type of pci card should i get and what cables should i get

Thanks

SCSI is an interface and will require a SCSI PCI card. Adaptec is the most common but there is also LSI, among others.

This is different than ATA(IDE). Drives are 'daisychained' and there are termination requirements. They will not be slaved to the IDE as your post states. One 'ultra' controller will support 15 devices with one being the controller itself. So a maxium of 14 drives.

I would first familiarize yourself with SCSI before attempting this or purchasing any hardware. Check the adaptec site for a primer & or google for setting up SCSI.
