does anyone know of a driver that may be compatible with the intel 82371xb PCI Bridge and linux? I get an unrecognized Pci slot message while booting and no modem as a result even though the OS sees my Video card. I am using an Abit system board if that helps.
Thank you in advance!

Have you tried recompiling your kernel with the PCI options?
I'm away from my Linux box right now but IIRC there is an option for advanced PCI support. You might also check to see if there's support for the 82371 chipset explicitly.

Thank you pwhysall for your reply. Yes, I did compile the kernel with pci options and the 82371 is in the listing but the unknowns still appear. I am going to dig into the bios on this machine further to see if I can turn the usb options off for now and see if that helps...And also try to locate the IIRC for advanced support.

Do you have the PNP OS selection turned off? This might be causing it as well. I did a Linux RH 5.2 install in an Abit BH6 MB and it found all of my devices fine.
